The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has a continuing requirement for Homeland Enterprise Information Technology Secure Services & Support (HEITS) for the continued operations and maintenance and evolution of the Homeland Secure Data Network (HSDN) and the Classified Local Area Network (C-LAN). The Cloud Administrator is a key role, which will support multiple customer operations initiatives. HEITS is seeking a Cloud Administrator who has experience with designing, deploying, and managing cloud environments from Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. Candidate should be able to design and develop complex solutions with minimal to no assistance from peers. Daily duties include O&M of virtual environments, cloud migration projects and designing and implementing new technologies.
The successful candidate will possess a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Primary Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage cloud-oriented solutions from major vendors such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
Provide technical expertise and assist with systems integration and consolidation efforts across multiple systems environments.
Create cloud implementation plans, operational documentation, and continual improvement of current systems and designs.
Conduct cloud assessments, planning, and migration activities for varied application sets.
Provides operations, maintenance, and enhancement of cloud applications within all cloud environments.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline w/ 8+ years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree in a related discipline w/ 6+ years. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Must have experience as a Cloud Admin (AWS or Azure) to include tasks such as cloud migration, cloud networking, IAM, cloud optimization, and deployment automation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
At least one advanced cloud certification.
Proven track record in leadership positions executing cloud migrations and application refactoring.
Knowledge of Linux and Windows systems.
Team player capable of high performance and flexibility in a dynamic working environment
Ability to interact positively, collaborate and communicate appropriately with team members
Must be able to effectively plan and prioritize tasking.
Must be capable of performing high quality work both independently, and with a team, in a fast-moving environment.
US Citizenship required
Must possess an active Top Secret clearance and be eligible to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong mastery of Azure infrastructure provisioning, security hardening.
Experience in migrating on-premise infrastructure to the Azure environment.
Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V including designing, configuring, and migrating workloads to and from on premise Hyper-V virtualized infrastructure to Azure cloud environments.
Demonstrated experience with supporting IL6 Azure infrastructure.
Experience with programming and infrastructure automation (JSON, YAML, Python, Terraform).
Experience with CI/CD Pipeline
Experience with Cloud Security Tools
Experience with Containers in the Azure Environment.
Experience implementing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) for various systems.
Azure certifications - professional desired, or associates with additional experience.
Formalized systems engineering methods including but not limited to performing assessment of alternatives (AoA) and business case analysis (BCA).
Other industry certifications a plus.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
