Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Risk and Safety Accounting Analytics Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between accounting, actuarial science, data analytics, and risk management playing a key role in providing financial insights and data-driven decisions that influences ABM. This role will work closely with leadership to provide insights on financial performance, helping to drive decision-making processes related to claims management, safety, insurance procurement, and risk management within the insurance business.

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Forecasting:
- Develop, maintain, and improve financial models to forecast Risk & Safety department expenses including the insurance premium, program, and personnel budget.
- Work with Finance, Operations, & Insurance Brokers to prepare annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
- Analyze variances between actual results and budget/forecast and provide recommendations to improve performance.
- Provide input on financial implications for actuarial results.
- Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports to senior leadership.
- Partner with actuarial, underwriting, and other cross-functional teams to align financial planning with operational strategies.
- Support internal and external partners with ABM’s insurance captive, IFM
- Coordinate the collection, validation, and preparation of data required for actuarial studies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Plan, organize, and manage the lifecycle of actuarial studies, including SOX compliance and reserve analyses.
- Ensure studies are completed on schedule by coordinating tasks, timelines, and resources with actuarial, finance, and risk management teams.
- Facilitate regular status meetings, track progress, and provide updates to senior management on the status of ongoing studies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between actuarial teams and other departments such as Risk Management and Finance.
- Act as a liaison between accounting, actuarial, and Risk & Safety teams to ensure alignment of financial strategies.
- Present complex data and findings in clear, concise reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of SOX documentation and Internal/External Audit schedules and timelines.
- Build and enhance claim and safety dashboards and reporting tools that track KPIs and provide insights for decision-makers.
- Present financial analysis and results to senior management and relevant stakeholders, both in written reports and presentations.
- Ensure accurate, timely submission of reports for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies when necessary.
- Develop dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights into insurance operations, safety & claims data, and financial performance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in insurance accounting, actuarial, or analytics roles.
- Understanding of the insurance process, including underwriting, claims, premiums, and loss reserves preferred.
- Ability to work with large volume of data using advanced level software skills (MS Excel, MS Access, or other similar software).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
