Job Overview & Responsibilities
This is an exciting and dynamic role located directly at the launch site. Wide range of activities and projects related to erosion, corrosion control, civil structural projects and maintenance. This role includes the ability to directly shape the work and drive projects from cradle to grave. This role can have a significant amount of autonomy. This role directly supports launches, including day of launch activities.
Supporting Civil & Structural Engineering needs for Engineering & Infrastructure Group. Including but not limited to:
- Oversees and manages the operational aspects of new and existing projects
- Maintenance and Repair Launch Site Infrastructure
- Provide engineering and oversight of SLC-3 and other associated facilities. The engineering and management support may include
- Architectural
- HVAC
- Electrical
- Civil
- Structural and mechanical systems
- Maintenance and facility corrosion control activities.
Additional daily roles include:
- Perform engineering calculations, trade-studies, designs, evaluations, and rough cost estimates in support of the above engineering activities.
- Troubleshooting, repair and retest of major components including hydraulics & controls for movable buildings and platforms.
- Prepare Statements of Work with detailed contractor direction, and manage contractor’s activities for building architectural systems, facility corrosion control repair, miscellaneous civil, structural and mechanical repairs/modifications.
- Develop and coordinate technical portions of proposals and contract specifications.
- Apply knowledge of regulatory and certifying agency requirements to ensure product and/or service is in compliance with local and launch base codes.
- Apply knowledge of functional testing requirements to ensure product and/or service meets or exceeds customer expectations
- Work with various government groups including Air Force and Base Civil Engineering personnel.

Bachelor
Required Years of Experience
Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
- Experience with Computer Aided Design software such as AutoCad, Revit
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with facilities engineering and/or plant operations.
- Experience with working with contractors and developing statements of work.
- Excellent communication, writing and oral skills and have the ability to work with a wide range of team members including customers and subcontractors.
- Experience working independently and in a team environment, with both represented and contractor personnel.
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office products like Excel, Word, Power Point and Project.
- Work will primarily be in an office type environment, with some field operations and maintenance support (launch pad and processing facilities) involving working at height, working in confined space, and working in areas of stored hazardous rocket propellant commodities and high-pressure gases.
- Previous Launch Pad or other similar industry experience (Nuclear, Aircraft, Civil, and Chemical) is preferred.
- Construction background is a plus.
Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Vandenberg AFB only): $103,022.00 - $160,970.00
