The Staff Engineer – Mechanical Design (Rotating Parts) will be responsible for the mechanical design, manufacture, and delivery of rotating parts used in the development testing of the next generation of narrow body jet engines. You will be required to push the boundaries of what is possible with the latest technologies and materials developed at GE Aerospace. This role is a part of the Compression Systems Design team reporting the Sub-Section Manager.
This position has the flexibility of optional hybrid schedule once fully trained. The hybrid schedule consists of working in the office minimum of 3 days per week and the option to work from home on the other days, based on team/project schedules.
Job Description
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute with limited guidance the design and analysis of rotating parts using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements
- Provide technical guidance that influences outcomes to other people supporting complex tasks; mentor others in the organization
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned hardware consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Develop action plans, with guidance, to respond to issues/ problems
- Recommend, the approach to meet the technical and program requirements
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews with internal and external customers
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- At least 7 years of engineering experience in rotating part hardware design
- Must be willing to work out of an office located in Evendale, OH
