The Leidos Office of Technology (OOT) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Director of Product Management to join our Technology Transition team and lead Product Management. In this role, you will oversee a team of product managers as well as a portfolio of technology capabilities built on Independent Research and Development (IRAD), guiding them from Research & Development through deployment, operation, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have at least eight years of experience in product management and at least five years of experience managing technical personnel. The ideal candidate will also possess superior analytical and problem-solving skills, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, be a strong team player, and be able to establish solid working relationships with technical staff members and peers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a small team of product managers
- Ensure product management follows industry best practices adapted to Leidos markets and practices
- Ensure R&D Technology capabilities deliver current and future product roadmap commitments.
- Communicate innovative technologies effectively to a diverse stakeholder community across all Leidos sectors, including Commercial & International, Defense Systems, Digital Modernization, Health & Civil, National Security, Leidos Innovation Center, Chief Growth Office, and Chief Performance Office.
- Establish effective collaboration that prioritizes enterprise-wide technology needs while balancing cost, schedule, and other constraints.
- Make key strategic decisions and manage cross-functional relationships across management, engineering, and essential stakeholders within the enterprise.
- Define product and service value propositions and create marketing materials that include business cases and technical specifications for proposed products and features.
- Develop product strategies and roadmaps that align with customer needs and competitive positioning, executing on these plans.
- Lead voice-of-customer initiatives to drive solutions within product offerings.
- Define product/service value propositions for offerings
- Manage sustainment and product improvement initiatives.
- Oversee product certification and accreditation activities.
- Maintain ownership of multiple capabilities throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Encourage the organization to pursue technical and process innovations, enhancing solution development within the current portfolio of contracts and customers.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
- Technical background with a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of technical product management experience
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with product management and development operations tools (e.g., Atlassian suite)
- Certification or training in product management or product ownership, such as SAFE© Product Owner / Product Manager certification
- 17+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 15+ years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13+ years of prior relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
- Prior hands-on software development experience
- Experience in software development, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and/or cybersecurity.
- Agile leadership certification or training such as SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) or SAFE® Agilist
- Proven experience managing technical teams effectively.
- At least fifteen years of experience leading and managing technology development initiatives.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00
