Specialist, Project Risk Controls
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accountable to the ERM Leadership Team, working collaboratively and building cross-functional partnerships to support the successful implementation of KBR’s Enterprise Risk Management strategy. Supports the ERM Leadership in development and maturity of a culture of proactive risk identification and mitigation throughout the company, reporting the results to KBR Executive Leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contributes to the development, and is responsible for maintenance, of the KBR ERM Plan
- Researches and collaborates cross-functionally with projects, business unit management, corporate strategists and executives to identify emerging risks and the associated mitigation and action plans
- Coordinates the periodic receipt of relevant and timely risk information from projects, functions and business units
- Reports key risk indictors and trends, and monitors the progress of risk mitigation efforts
- Prepares and disseminates risk analysis and progress reports to company executives, board members and other stakeholders
- Contributes to the continual development, enhancement and communication of policies, strategies, tools, and methodologies to measure, monitor, and report risks and support the KBR ERM Framework at all levels within the company
- Supports the development and implementation of a KBR ERM software solution
- Identifies training opportunities on ERM related topics, policies, and procedures
- Contributes to the development and communication of the KBR ERM brand
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the KBR ERM portal
- Contributes to Commercial Risk Management practices as required.
- May be required to support projects from a Risk Management perspective.
QUALIFICATIONS - SKILLS REQUIREMENTS – EXPERIENCE LEVEL (ADDITIONAL NOTES):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Relevant experience working with contractors, subcontractors and owners on Energy, Consultancy, Technology and/or Government projects.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and research skills, and proven ability to effectively analyze data and component risks
- Prior hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas: engineering, risk management, project controls, contract administration, subcontracts, procurement, accounting and finance, business development and/or project management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, the role involves a high amount of interaction with senior management and key business partners; significant level of trust and diplomacy is required in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Experience with presenting, facilitating, and gaining consensus is required.
- Ability to effectively work with both internal and external partners in a highly collaborative environment, creating strong business networks.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and decision-making abilities.
- Builds strong relationships based on trust, understanding and mutual accountability and can interact comfortably with senior management, articulate issues clearly and succinctly, and challenge existing views.
- Multi-tasking individual with a track record of prioritizing effectively and setting/meeting deadlines for key deliverables on a consistent basis, in a high pressure, strict deadline environment.
- Experience with presentation development, MS Office Suite a must.
VALUE-ADDED
- Experience of the entire project lifecycle is beneficial to possessing the knowledge necessary for effective risk identification and management. Field assignments for EPC, PMC, Services and/or Government Services projects.
- Qualitative and analytical skills including data science and analysis
- Strong contracts understand for independent review to identify risks to KBR and assess mitigations
- Fluency in non-English languages
