About the Role
The NASAM Additive Manufacturing Instructor will require a driven individual to teach in an accelerated, short-term training program. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to developing curriculum, delivering instruction, and advising students. Instruction topics will include general instruction on additive manufacturing processes, additive manufacturing safety best practices, application, and hands-on training. This position may require travel and work on nights and weekends. Some travel may be required. Evening classes, weekend classes, and/or classroom instruction at off-campus centers may be required.
Shift Availability
This position will support classes on second shift temporarily and will support first shift spring 2025. Evening classes, weekend classes and/or classroom instruction at off-campus centers may be required. Shift assignments are based on business needs at the time of hiring, performance, and tenure. Your salary will include a shift differential based on the class times you are assigned to instruct. First shift classes start at 7:00 a.m. Second shift classes start at 3:00 p.m. Third shift classes start at 11:00 p.m.

The Ideal Candidate
- Navy / USMC military experience preferred
- Associate degree
- CAD experience
- Understanding of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) principles
- Extensive experience in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks Preferred)
- Extensive experience in Slicing software (Cura, Insite Preferred)
- Experience in additive manufacturing (3D-Printing) process in metals and/or plastics
- Demonstrated experience in teaching/instruction of adult learners
- Demonstrated ability to work with a widely diverse faculty, staff and student population
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Other Preferred Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum and course design and development.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a widely diverse faculty, staff and student population.
- Creative thinking / Problem-solving attitude
- Current technology skills related to teaching in the discipline and a willingness to pursue future technological developments.
- Evidence of excellence in teaching;
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Committed to quality instruction, scholarship, and academic integrity.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering standards, material specifications, and participation in industry consortium’s
- Knowledge in utilization of post processing methodologies
- Competency in blueprint interpretation and GD&T
- Familiarity with NAVAIR specific policies and procedures
Salary & Benefits
