PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The MISS program is a comprehensive initiative aimed at supporting the US Department of State’s operations in Iraq. In addition to providing ongoing base operations and Life Support Services, KBR will provide differentiated advisory and consultancy capabilities to the Iraqi Government with a focus on creating an effective program environment to support delivery of strategic economic planning, strategy development, feasibility studies, technical reviews and large-scale project management. Under this contract KBR will provide facility maintenance, procurement, critical supply functions, along with foodservice, base camp operations, renovations, construction, and medical services.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The HVAC Supervisor will be based at the US Embassy in Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for supervising installation, maintenance, and repair to HVAC equipment throughout assigned site. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and not necessarily all inclusive.
Please note: This position is located in Baghdad, Iraq and is contingent on award.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
Perform maintenance and repair to window air conditioners and split units up to 5 tons.
Perform maintenance and repair on package units up to 50 tons.
Perform maintenance on VFD’s, with motors ranging from 5hp to 40hp.
Perform maintenance and repair on chillers and chilled water circulation pumps.
Perform maintenance and repair on refrigerated containers and walk in coolers.
Proficient in troubleshooting chiller control boards and working around high AC and DC voltages.
Perform maintenance and repair on VAV boxes, electric heaters, and exhaust fans.
Use refrigerant charging equipment and recovery equipment.
Be on-call 24/7 and willing to respond quickly to critical issues.
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
A High school diploma and vocational training in HVAC
Ten (10) years’ HVACR (Refrigeration) repair experience on commercial equipment.
Able to perform physical labor including safely lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
Expertise in standard shop computations and measuring instruments.
Able to collect, analyze, and summarize data and prepare daily reports and work orders.
Must have good organizational and communication skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
Knowledge and use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Knowledge of all principles and processes involved in operation maintenance and support services for HVACR at an overseas facility.
Experience providing excellent customer services.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at any given time and rapidly adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
Ability to recognize, evaluate, and manage risk to develop effective controls and provide safe and healthy working conditions to prevent incidents, injuries, illnesses, and environmental pollution.
Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.
US Citizen
US Passport with minimum one plus year validity remaining.
Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Must currently possess a U.S. Government (USG) issued Secret security clearance and/or a favorable USG Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) certification prior to being hired is required for the position.
Must maintain eligibility at the required clearance or certification level for the duration of the task order.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working on Reefers and chillers.
Previous out of home country HVACR experience is highly desirable and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions is a plus.
Experience working with Maximo applications.
Experience working with PAE/Amentum.
Experience in OCONUS operations and maintenance projects in an international environment preferred.
Knowledge of principles and processes involved in operating and supporting maintenance and repair on kitchen, laundry, and gym equipment at an overseas facility.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services.
Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.
Previous international experience and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions.
Experience working withing Government Contracts.
Must have effective communication skills (written/verbal) with exceptional problem resolution abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
Expert computer skills, specifically Microsoft Project, Word and Excel.
Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
