RSM currently has an opening for a business intelligence professional with a strong background in data modeling and business and data analysis to join our national Deal Analytics service line (an integrative part of the Transaction Advisory Services M&A practice) as an experienced professional.
As an experienced professional in Transaction Advisory, this individual will work closely with professionals in the national practice design, develop and execute solutions for private equity and strategic clients to help evaluate their acquisition decisions and financing requirements. This individual will also work closely with teams to provide data support for financial due diligence projects.
Core responsibilities include:
Assist in project scoping and strategic planning
Research and study the business for a given project, critically dissect the strategy, and develop insightful analysis
Participate in client meetings (and potentially site visits) while interacting with top-level management to obtain pertinent information for financial analysis
Design and develop data integration workflows to integrate data from disparate source systems into an integrated business intelligence environment
Execute on a broad range of data and analytic techniques at the direction of practice managers and directors
Propose techniques to apply based on experience and familiarity with the project data set, innovating new techniques when necessary
Collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional RSM team members to develop and present project findings and assist in the preparation of client deliverables
Requirements:
General
Minimum bachelor’s degree in the field of accounting, business administration, economics, operations, mathematics, computer science, and/or information systems from an accredited university
Possesses a balance of strong financial and business acumen and ability to explain technical data concepts and analytical techniques in the language of business (including communication of concepts used and challenges encountered)
3+ years experience working within a large public accounting or consulting firm
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Highly self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task and execute tasks while under pressure
Demonstrates critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to apply theoretical concepts and best practices to solve business problems
Ability to work successfully and effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, as well as independently
A self-starter who is confident when interacting with clients, internal team members and firm leadership
Consistently meets internal and client deadlines
Willingness and ability to travel overnight (up to 30%)
Technical Data Abilities
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Experience in constructing and managing dimensional data models
Experience in defining and managing ETL process and automating data integration routines (experience with Alteryx is a plus)
Experience using T-SQL scripts (functions, views, stored procedures, etc.) to manipulate and simplify access to data
Proficiency with the Microsoft business intelligence platform, including SQL Server databases, SQL Server
Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and Power BI
Experience with constructing tabular models in Microsoft’s Azure environment is strongly preferred
Experience in designing and developing reporting and data visualization solutions (preference is Alteryx, Power BI or Tableau) is strongly preferred

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $82,400 - $156,200
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
