The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. We focus on our clients' overall financial needs, with consideration and respect for their total relationship with Wells Fargo.
The successful candidate will work within the credit, municipal bonds, and structured products asset classes. They will work closely with the e-Product team, trading desks, and E-Trading technology teams to assist with the continual design, development, and risk management of systematic trading in these assets. This role will focus on engineering and managing strategies that exist within a larger, low-latency framework, performing extensive customer pricing analysis and inventory optimization. Research will involve driving the discovery of revenue generating strategies leveraging data-driven techniques, analysis of new alpha signal generators, and performing strategy back-testing. - Work to build out algorithmic trading strategies with broad impact
- Partner closely with Technology to implement, test, maintain, and support these strategies
- Gather and analyze large and varied financial data sources
- Build models, including machine-learning models, to predict market behavior and drive the algorithmic trading strategies
- Act as a key participant in developing, implementing, and monitoring risk-based programs to trade securities for Securities Algorithmic Trading
- Review and analyze complex formulae, combined with mathematical models and human oversight that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including the use of process and rules-based algorithms to employ strategies for executing trades
- Work with support groups on model governance, model validation, ET governance, and algorithmic trading strategy KPIs
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.
Required Qualifications, US:- 2+ years of Securities Algorithmic Trading experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education
Desired Qualifications:- An advanced degree (masters or doctorate) in a quantitative/analytical field such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science
- Ability to write high-quality code in one or more programming languages
- Strong statistical background
- Proven ability to analyze large datasets, build models, and draw commercial conclusions
- Ability to develop and deliver production code. Familiarity with Java and Python strongly preferred, but alternative languages are acceptable.
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with traders and other groups in the firm.
- Experience designing and building systematic/algorithmic trading systems, particularly market-making systems in the fixed income space.
- Familiarity with fixed-income markets.
- Experience building machine-learning models.
- Experience collaborating on a large-scale, enterprise codebase.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets in in Python
- Demonstrated familiarity developing a safe environment using controls, testing, and resiliency, particularly around electronic trading.

Job Expectations:- Up to 5% travel
- Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
