Description of Duties:
The System Administrator (Windows) (Night Shift) supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The role involves monitoring system activity, implementing upgrades, vulnerability management, and providing technical support to users. Be a part of a team of qualified, diverse individuals working in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will:
- Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers/systems.
- Evaluate and assess developer-provided documentation and media to installation deadlines with provided resources.
- Make recommendations to plan, develop and execute work plans that achieve critical-path requirements.
- Manage, perform and ensure team members are performing system changes in accordance with developer documentation, configuration management and documentation practices.
- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
- Install, configure, and manage of on-prem Active Directory environment including configuration and implementation of GPOs.
- Assist integration leads and managers in problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation a needed.
- Advise team members and leadership and make appropriate technical recommendations regarding system development issues and improvements, optimization tools and methods, process creation and development, and support efforts.
- Track and report installation progress to appropriate managers on a daily basis.
- Perform necessary physical inspections and research using system/event logs, appropriate tools/software to identify problems, trends and aid in troubleshooting actions.
- Coordinate, collaborate and communicate with multiple internal and external team members and government representatives in the accomplishments of daily duties.
- Coordinate and schedule developer support during installations as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need:
Basic Requirements:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 12 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 10 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 6 years of general experience
- Must have 7 years’ directly relatable experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows operating systems and applications such as Windows Server 2012 – 2016 and Windows 10.
- Must have 1 year of management or leadership role experience.
- Must have strong knowledge of Active Directory Users and Computers, Sites and Services, DNS, Group Policy, TCP/IP networking and LDAP.
- Must have experience building, configuring and deploying servers/systems in a virtualized environment.
- Must be able to interface with software engineers, systems engineers, developers, and subject matter experts to solve complex integration and technical problems.
- Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization with internal and external customers, in written and oral format.
- Must have a current DoD approved 8570 Level II certification such as Security+ CE.
- Must have, or obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Requirements:
- Strong understanding of troubleshooting approaches and root cause analysis
- Have experience with Multi Factor Authentication methodology
- Experience with patch and software management using HCL BigFix
- Experience with HP hardware
- Experience with NetApp NAS storage
- Command of Win Active Directory, and familiarity with Linux
- Experience building, configuring and deploying servers/systems using VSphere 6.5+
- Working knowledge of light PowerShell scripting
- Ability, knowledge, and experience in Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Have an MCSA / MCSE or equivalent certification
This position is expected to pay $103,000 – $128,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
