As a mobile diesel technician, you will perform most of the required service and repairs on various trucks, minimal Light duty (cars and trucks) and equipment at clients' work sites and roadside emergency repairs within Glenn Burnie and its surrounding area.
As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you must pass a DOT Physical and have prior experience as a Mobile Diesel Technician.
DUTIES:
- Respond to call center dispatched unscheduled service and maintenance requests. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to, the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, power steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, differentials, etc. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld Computers and pressure gauges. Use essential hand tools, precision instruments, power tools, welding equipment, and jacks. Document and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findings observed on Service Orders using an issued iOS device Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in a timely fashion. Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or ensure they are working correctly. Work with a high degree of independence and manage your daily schedule. Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most standard repair times Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs. Manage parts inventory and equipment provided on a service truck and perform periodic reconciliation. Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrievePurchase order numbers and discuss SO findings. Perform all work compliant with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT. Participate and complete all-in company-required safety training. Establishes and maintains good working relationships with assigned customers and vendors. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Maintain the company’s issued service truck and conduct safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older. Minimum three years’ experience as a Diesel Technician on Class 3 – 8 vehicles. Must have a valid Class A CDL A valid driver’s license is required; it must be clean. A High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education is a plus but not required. Must provide own hand tools that are adequate to perform job functions. Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and their drivers. Proficiency in the use of iOS / mobile devices, navigation of mobile applications, and use of email to document repairsAnd communication. Ability to learn new platforms. Willingness to work varied schedules outdoors, on the element’s roadside, and potentially at customer yards/locations. Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task, and apply initiative. Positive attitude, Safety conscious, good instincts, and self-motivation Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance a variety of tasks. Proficiency in and ability to obtain certificates for DOT Inspection and Air Brakes repair

Schedule:
We must be flexible with hours as we schedule work around customer needs. Generally, work is scheduled between 7 AM and 5 PM Monday – Friday. Some weekends are per scheduling and agreed upon; however, sometimes, we need to meet a customer’s last-minute needs.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- On-site at the shop each day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
