SUMMARY
The leave specialist will be the champion for our leave of absence processing and support for Andersen and will ensure that all plans are administered consistently with company objectives and strategy, ensuring compliance with regional and local regulations. Advising and serving as main point of contact and subject matter expert for employee inquiries. Providing managers, employees and HR business partners information on all processes and procedures required for leave of absence management and other accommodation requests. In addition, serve as the point of contact for Drug and Alcohol program administration for the enterprise
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- In collaboration with the Employee Leave and Disability Solutions team the leave specialist will be responsible for processing and tracking all leave of absence and accommodation requests (WC, FMLA, STD, LTD, ADA, State) for an average of 200-300+ active and pending claims at any given time
- Advising and serving as main point of contact and subject matter expert for employee inquiries on leave
- Providing managers and employees information on all processes and procedures required for leave of absence management and other accommodation requests
- Demonstrating sensitivity, professionalism, and discretion in all aspects of your responsibilities adhering to HIIPA guidelines
- Generating and communicating leave notifications to managers, providing regular updates and reporting to the business
- Communicating with outsourced provider companies regarding pending claims and leave administration
- Supporting claims administration by retrieving payroll reports, benefit summaries, and completing supplemental documentation
- Partnering with Human Resources Business Partners and RTW Specialists regarding absences, return to work plans, and absence management
- Evaluating and proposing needed changes to policies and program
- Consulting with legal counsel to ensure all processes and plans are up to date with regulatory change
- Creating and auditing reports between our benefit provider and HRIS
- Maintain high level knowledge of current US regulatory requirements relating to leaves of absence and accommodations
- Work independently and facilitate timely project management by initiating, planning, executing, and completing various projects
- Support and assist with the administration of the Company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy including maintaining the distribution of random testing reports, maintaining vendor contracts for field sales and service, coordination of forms and supplies, and administration of training
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to quickly build trusting relationships in a customer-centric environment
- 5-7 years of experience in leave management or related field
- Demonstrated departmental and team management skills
- Demonstrated skills in strategy setting, data collection and reporting, excellent verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels in the organization
- Knowledge in medical diagnostic procedures, treatment parameters, and rehabilitation programs
- Ability to translate physical abilities as they relate to appropriate job placements
- Critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are essential
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- CLMS Certification or willingness to obtain preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in related field

During 2022, each eligible Andersen employee will receive $1,000 for each full fiscal quarter they are actively employed and fully vaccinated against COVID-19. An eligible employee hired during a quarter will receive a prorated payment based on the number of days employed during the quarter.
