What You Will Do
- Perform duties related to the operation of haul trucks to transport materials from loading areas to processing areas at a skilled level.
- Responsible for understanding changes to assigned work areas and any potential hazards
- Responsible for performing inspections to maximize equipment and tire life and executes assignments from computerized dispatch system and/or two-way radio
- May assist with training and mentoring of other equipment operators
- May also operate other heavy equipment which may include, but is not limited to, water trucks, motor graders, and track and rubber tire dozers
- Responsible for knowing the following procedures: start-up and shut-down, fueling, fire, runaway, emergency, and accident
- Responsible for having knowledge of payload measurement system, over speed alarm, dispatch codes, shovel and truck horn signals, secondary brake, and park brake
- Responsible for the safe and skilled performance of the following tasks: spotting at shovel, loading, traveling, dumping on stockpiles, and dumping at crusher
- Responsible for having operational knowledge of equipment components such as: engine, transmission, planetary final drives, main drive line, nose cone assembly, torque converter, differential, and wet disc braking system
- May perform and assist with operations support activities such as, housekeeping, barricading, cable moves, and ground support activities
- May perform minor maintenance activities
- Perform other duties as required
What You Bring To Freeport
- Six (6) months of mobile equipment operating experience
- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Six (6) or more months of experience operating Haul Trucks
What We Offer You
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $24.00 - $31.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
