Job Description
The Director, Sports Streaming & Social will oversee the daily digital operations and executions for Telemundo Deportes, focusing on developing and implementing content strategies, plans, and executions across all digital platforms, including on-domain and social media.
Job Duties:
- Develop digital content strategies for both the domain and social platforms to engage target audiences, driving monetizable impressions and achieving advertising sales goals to foster business growth.
- Create Detailed content plans for on domain and social platforms for both day-to-day editorial coverages in addition to major tent pole events such as World Cup, Olympics, etc.
- Oversee the Social team in managing all TLMD Deportes social accounts, content strategies, and workflows.
- Supervise the Editorial team, both remote and on-site, in the creation and publication of Deportes content across various platforms.
- Manage resource needs of the Deportes digital team, including identifying candidates and hiring.
- Oversee content publication on Telemundo.com, the Telemundo App, and TLMD Deportes social platforms.
- Create and establish effective and efficient workflows across all digital Deportes teams to manage daily content requirements across the domain and social platforms.
- Identify new opportunities to develop content on emerging platforms with potential audience and business growth.
- Coordinate resources, efforts, productions, and overall digital Deportes needs.
- Collaborate with the Research team to monitor performance metrics across platforms, assessing which content efforts are successful and where adjustments are necessary.
- Innovate and develop new content, social, and broadcast integration projects to attract new audiences and monetize opportunities for the Telemundo Deportes brand.
- Work with the Deportes production and operations teams to create, share, and publish video content across digital and social platforms.
- Maintain the daily relationship with digital sales and branded marketing teams and develop creative sponsored and branded content ideas/opportunities across platforms.
- Collaborate with various departments at Telemundo, including stations, affiliates, legal, finance, and marketing, for all Deportes digital-related needs.
- Work with the Peacock team to create tentpole content, streaming strategies, and viewing experience plans on Peacock.
- Coordinate with the Peacock and NBC Sports team to develop content and streaming strategies as well as viewing experience plans on the Telemundo App.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in social or digital media.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience managing and scheduling content on major social media platforms, such as TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience producing and shooting social media content.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience crafting or contributing to a brand’s tone and voice on digital platforms.
- Strong understanding of social and digital media, new technologies, and emerging platforms.
- Experience working with high-profile talent or entertainment brands.
- Proven ability to build an audience on various social platforms.
- Knowledge of social media sponsorships and brand partnerships.
- Able to manage multiple projects in fast-paced TV and social media environments.
- Organized professional who assesses output and efforts to grow the business and improve efficiency.
- Able to develop comprehensive tentpole coverage plans for both primary and social platforms and deliver them promptly.
Additional Requirements:
- This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
