Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a Metro Datacenter Networking Program Manager (DCPM) you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. As a successful Metro Datacenter Networking Program Manager, your day-to-day work will include:
Service Delivery
- Creating and managing end-to-end project plans and ensuring on time delivery.
- Supporting deployment of on-site datacenter physical infrastructure for installing, replacing, and troubleshooting cables, optic, and hardware
- Infrastructure planning, placement, and mapping.
- Interfacing with external groups for network focused deployment or break/fix work.
- Troubleshooting, replacement, and decommissioning of network devices and components.
- Plan, manage, and communicate end-to-end project plans with stakeholders and teams. This includes the program management of Datacenter Network and Operations Technicians in your metro for the refreshing of all network devices on an ongoing basis.
- Collaborate with Partners, Regional Networking PMs, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient progression of all networking tasks and projects.
- Perform day-to-day project check-in and update to manage project delivery and quality.
- Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities and communicate to stakeholders and other teams to drive resolution.
- Gather and provide feedback on lessons learned, best practices, and innovations on processes, procedures, and tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Be part of a mobilization team that supports deployments and break/fix activities at datacenter locations experiencing high work volumes.

Required Qualifications:

- High School Qualification or equivalent AND 3+ years experience supporting IT equipment or related technology or delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments
Background Check Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with Microsoft Cloud Services and Platforms (e.g., Windows Azure, Office 365, Excel Pivot tables, etc.)
- Understanding of Layers 1-3 Networking Support; firsthand experience with cables and switches
- Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. or related field.
Data Center Operations Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,800 - $195,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $135,200 - $222,000 per year.
