GDIT has an opening for a Deputy Program Manager (PM) to join our team. This position provides an opportunity to join an expanding team that will continue to develop and expand a system that supports an existing government customer. We work closely with our customer to ensure that we continue to provide the updated services needed as they expand their own offerings to a growing list of other government organizations.
The selected Deputy PM candidate will work within an established team to build and further advance GDIT software systems and applications. They will work alongside the Program Manager, development, and maintenance teams to create, manage, and report on multiple technology development initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Position GDIT as trusted advisor with Federal Government Clients. Lead teams to meet and exceed SLAs and KPIs while mitigating risks, controlling costs, and managing schedules.
- Work with the team to develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.
- Manage and oversee full time employees, as well as subcontractors.
- Act as a customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems, and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years-experience
- 3+ years-experience managing and leading remote and geographically dispersed operations and engineering staff.
- 2+ years-experience in IT systems management, maintenance, and integration.
- Experience leveraging data analytics and insights to drive program strategy.
- The candidate must be a U.S. citizen and successfully complete a Public Trust background investigation.
Additional (Desired) Qualifications:
- Recent experience (within the last 5 years) coordinating an organization’s shift toward implementing and executing Agile IT delivery methodologies.
- Experience providing oversight of Projects and Engineering Teams.
- Experience with secure credential production.
Work Location:
Primary location of work will be Falls Church, VA, but will be expected to be on site in Washington, DC for meetings and events as needed.
The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
