The Financial Reporting Specialist would primarily be responsible for executing assigned tasks and would have ownership of reporting processes and outputs as well as supervise junior team members (located offshore). The successful candidate will be expected to produce timely, accurate and reliable financial information and enhance their understanding of investment accounting and reporting. This role requires utilizing financial applications (Oracle Enterprise Financial Data Warehouse (EFDW) and GAAP and Statutory Supplementals) to generate investment data in the preparation and/or review of the team’s deliverables.
What you can expect:
- Statutory investment disclosures (Notes and MD&A) for quarterly and annual financial statements filed with various state departments of insurance and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC)
- Statutory investment disclosures (footnotes and MD&A) for annual audited financial statements
- GAAP quarterly results preparation and analysis for various Senior Management packages
- Investment related portfolio analysis for business partners
- Information requests from various business partners (standard, ad-hoc)
- Investment related surveys and analytics for external agencies (Rating Agency & IAIS)
- Identification and implementation of process enhancements and efficiencies
- Support of annual statutory investment disclosure external audits and SOX documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years relevant work experience
- Self-motivated and proactive; highly organized, conscientious and detail-oriented
- Demonstrates analytical, conceptual and critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively to accomplish shared objectives
- Able to effectively prioritize and manage a complex workload in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Prudential Financial systems a plus (Oracle, Essbase, GAAP Supplementals & Financial Statements applications)
- Flexibility to work overtime as required during peak reporting cycles
It's be a plus if you had:
- Experience in financial services
- Knowledge of technical accounting principles and reporting requirements (SSAP and GAAP)
- Knowledge of investment products
- Experience with Prudential Financial systems (Oracle, Essbase, GAAP Supplementals & Financial Statements applications)
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership abilities

What we offer you:
Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $71,100.00 to $105,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
