This position is on the Treasury Services Disbursements team. The responsibilities include approving manual payment requests, processing stop pays and voids, ach recalls and other processes.
This position will require that you go into the office one week per month. Also, you will be required to work the day after a holiday as needed.

As an Accountant, you'll perform varied accounting functions in the day-to-day maintenance of a general ledger and in the preparation of basic financial reports and statements. You'll use generally accepted accounting principles and practices in acquiring, assembling, evaluating and interpreting records and financial data of various types and sources. Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Assists, under minimal direct supervision, with the coordination, preparation and analysis of financial reports and statements as assigned.
Assists with development and submission of accounting and financial transactions required to provide proper reporting.
Maintains necessary accounting records and files as required. Performs maintenance of general ledger.
Prepares and verifies financial reports required by various insurance bureaus, publishing houses, statistical agencies, regulatory authorities, internal and external auditors/examiners and management.
Corresponds with various field staff or outside sources concerning difficulties, discrepancies or other matters as needed.
Maintains current knowledge of changes to GAAP and/or statutory accounting and reporting requirements, which will affect the submission of required reports and financial documents.
Recommends changes that would enhance, improve or facilitate job performance, processing or workflow. Recommends changes and improvements to related technology.
Assists, as requested, in the development and design of new accounting/financial processes.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Accounting Supervisor or Manager.
Typical Skills and Experience:
Education: Undergraduate studies in accounting or finance; accounting major and degree preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Progress towards CPA preferred.
Experience: Up to two years of related accounting experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of industry practices and procedures, GAAP and/or STAT, as well as financial statement preparation. Command of all skills necessary for verbal and written communications. Ability to analyze reporting and financial data to determine compliance to established standards. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer and related accounting and business software.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
