Description:Per Hourly Job Description
Sets up various types of spray painting equipment and work stands and applies primer, finish, and protective paint and paint-like coatings to parts and subassemblies, to interior surfaces of unstuffed major aircraft sections and component assemblies, and to other enclosed areas and unexposed surfaces of wings, stabilizers, and fuel tanks.
Obtains paint types, colors, number of coats, and areas to be painted from work orders, engineering drawings, and process specifications. Mixes paints to specified proportions and to obtain proper consistency for application. Performs incidental preparatory duties such as cleaning and preparing surfaces for painting and masking to skin breaks or other physical references, or as directed.
Lays out for, masks and sprays all types of primer, finish, and protective coatings on surfaces of detail parts and of sub-assemblies such as antennas, radomes, bulkheads, partitions, cargo doors and ramps, pylons, fairings, flaps, ailerons, rudders, panels, racks, tables, and sponsons having single or multiple colors. Makes operating adjustments to painting equipment to control spray pattern, density, and splatter as required in order to obtain proper finish. May operate computer controlled conveyors to retrieve and return parts.
Spray paints crew, equipment, passenger, stowage, and wheel-well compartments, and other interior surfaces of unstuffed major aircraft assemblies such as forward, mid, and aft fuselage sections and component assemblies such as upper and lower cab tops, floors, and side panels with primer, finish, and protective coatings, as specified. Masks lights, bracketry, cable drums, door hardware, and other items.
Spray paints enclosed areas in stabilizers and inside external fuel tanks with primer, finish, and protective coatings. Spray paints surfaces covered on final assembly such as wing stubs, beams, joints, and flaptracks and rudder and aileron mating surfaces of stabilizers similarly. Performs paint touch-up and rework of the same level of difficulty as described herein.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIRED
Knowledge of and ability to operate spray painting equipment and use acceptable spray painting techniques on conveyor lines, in paint booths, or in other designated painting areas to layout, mask and apply finishes in complex multiple colored patterns. Ability to obtain paint mixing, masking, and surface preparation information from applicable documents and use decimals, fractions, and proportions. Ability to apply protective and decorative finishes in conformance with specified tolerances.
Work schedule currently 4x10, may go to 3x12.

Basic Qualifications:
A Candidate is required to have the following minimum level of experience:
1. One year of production spray painting experience, either aircraft or auto body. (ability to operate spray painting equipment and use acceptable spray painting techniques).
OR
2. One year’s experience in the application of decals and spraying stencils, or other equivalent experience.
Desired Skills:
Commercial or Military Aircraft painting.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
