This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Portfolio Manager, Institutional Fixed Income, will have responsibility for the continued investment success of fixed income strategies at Parametric. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to manage and trade client portfolios, create standard and custom analysis, and support strategic growth initiatives. This role is expected to collaborate closely with leaders and other members of the Fixed Income, Overlay Solutions, and LDI teams.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Institutional Fixed Income accounts across Treasuries, STRIPS, TIPS, repo, and synthetic mandates, including trading responsibilities. Synthetic instruments may include interest rate or credit futures and swaps.
- Work with team of portfolio managers, investment analysts, and research to maintain models for index and internal portfolios.
- Work collaboratively with Overlay Solutions and LDI teams to implement these strategies, including executing physical and synthetic trades.
- Manage trading relationships in support of Best Execution and Counterparty Management policies.
- Work independently and in teams to develop recommendations for institutional fixed income strategies.
- Produce content including commentary, papers, client reviews, and prospect analyses.
- Participate in client reviews and general sales meetings as requested.
- Interact with Distribution and Client Service teams to provide commentary and update or create new material in support of our institutional fixed income strategies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree, with an advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field preferred
- CFA designation strongly preferred
- 5+ years of relevant investment management experience
- In-depth understanding of fixed income markets, in particular US Treasury markets
- Experience with synthetic instruments such as futures, swaps, and repo, is preferred
- LDI or pension actuarial expertise is a plus
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to develop and maintain quantitative models
- Strong communication skills, including writing, editing, and the ability to present complex material to clients, investment advisors, consultants, and at industry conferences
- Position may require travel up to 20% of the time

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $225,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
