Program Summary: The Strategic Planner will support USSTRATCOM’s campaign, operations, and strategic planning and assessments. This role involves leveraging a deep understanding of Joint Operations and Military Planning to contribute to day-to-day activities, crisis action, and Tier 1 exercises. The position is critical in ensuring the effective execution of strategic initiatives and operational readiness.
Job Summary: The Strategic Planner will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategic plans and assessments for USSTRATCOM. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of Joint Operations and Military Planning, with a focus on geopolitical and strategic military risk. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CCMD operations and a strong background in political science or international relations. The Strategic Planner will work closely with senior leadership to provide actionable insights and recommendations. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans and assessments for USSTRATCOM.
- Provide expert analysis on geopolitical and strategic military risks.
- Support day-to-day operations, crisis action planning, and Tier 1 exercises.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop actionable insights and recommendations.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership.
- Facilitate coordination and communication across various departments and agencies.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance strategic planning processes.
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in CCMD operations.
- Strong background in political science or international relations with a focus on geopolitical perspectives.
- Firm grasp of strategic and military risk.
- 3+ years of experience as an action officer with knowledge of Joint staff and CCMD planning.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in political science, international relations, or a related field.
- Experience with USSTRATCOM operations and strategic planning.
- Proven ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
