The Knowledge Experience team at LinkedIn is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic training professional who has a passion for teaching highly technical content, to develop instructionally-sound training programs for the LinkedIn Engineering organization. Our goal is to deliver world-class technical training experiences to thousands of engineers at LinkedIn globally in order to increase developer happiness, confidence, and productivity. This role is critical to helping us scale our programs and achieve that goal.
Responsibilities :
- You will learn from our engineers and technical leaders to understand how engineers design, develop, test, deploy, and monitor software at LinkedIn
- You will follow instructional design best-practices to assess training needs and design instructionally sound and engaging classroom or online training programs
- You will develop or maintain classroom content and codebase used for educational purposes
- You will teach one or more technical classes
- You will assess the effectiveness of training programs through different levels of evaluation
- You will consult and offer guidance to technical stakeholders on the most effective ways to train and transfer technical knowledge and skills
- You will enable and motivate engineers at all levels and roles to share their knowledge and expertise
- You will manage the delivery of training programs created by yourself or others
- You will develop or maintain tools that optimize training delivery and operations
Basic Qualifications :
- BA/BS Degree or related practical experience.
- 6+ years experience in one or more of the following:
1. Developing software
2. Teaching software development-related content
3. Instructional design
4. Technical content writing
Preferred Qualifications :
- BS or MEd and 8+ years of relevant work experience, teaching and mentoring others in programming languages, software development tools, or other software engineering-related subjects
- Experience developing software in Java, Python, or Javascript
- Empathy and understanding for how software developers learn and acquire new skills
- Experience in online training or video authoring tools such as Captivate, Camtasia, Storyline, Premiere, etc
- Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning frameworks such as ADDIE, SAM, etc
- Ability to assess training needs based on data in order to propose training solutions of different delivery methods
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems, SCORM, or xAPI
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-tech environment, primarily focused in Software Engineering
- Knowledge of different methods of evaluating training programs
- Ability to be proactive and autonomous; able to work with minimal supervision
