Video Teleconferencing and Teams Coordinator
This is a part-time position.
The Surface Warfare Officers School (SWOS) is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Video Teleconferencing and Teams Coordinator to oversee the planning, coordination, and management of video conferencing systems, including Microsoft Teams, to support training and educational activities. This role will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation of virtual communications, providing technical support for teleconferencing solutions, and resolving any troubleshooting issues related to hardware, software, and network connections.
Key Responsibilities:
Video Conferencing Management: Coordinate and manage all video conferencing activities, including Microsoft Teams, for SWOS training and educational sessions, meetings, and events.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Provide real-time troubleshooting for any technical issues with video conferencing equipment, Microsoft Teams, and network connectivity. Address audio, video, or software malfunctions to ensure minimal disruption to meetings.
System Setup & Maintenance: Set up and configure video conferencing systems, including microphones, cameras, and collaboration software, ensuring optimal functionality. Perform regular maintenance and upgrades to hardware and software.
User Support & Training: Offer technical assistance and training to staff, faculty, and students on the effective use of video conferencing tools, including Microsoft Teams, ensuring smooth participation in remote meetings, webinars, and virtual classes.
Coordination with External Teams: Collaborate with IT support teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless video teleconferencing for SWOS.
Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor the performance of video conferencing systems, report system issues, and suggest improvements or upgrades to enhance service quality and efficiency.
Documentation: Maintain documentation for troubleshooting procedures, user guides, and system configurations to assist in training and quick resolution of issues.\
Defense Reutilization Marketing Office Representative: Prepare and maintain documentation and equipment for disposal with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services for the command.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in managing or supporting video teleconferencing systems, including Microsoft Teams.
Ten years of related experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Must have an active secret level security clearance.
Additional Qualifications:
Strong understanding of Microsoft Teams, video conferencing platforms, and remote communication technologies.
Proven troubleshooting skills in resolving hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
Familiarity with video conferencing equipment, including cameras, microphones, speakers, and presentation systems.
Knowledge of video streaming protocols, web conferencing tools, and remote learning technologies.
Must be able to assist and train non-technical users.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments is required.
Must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in Microsoft Teams or other video conferencing platforms.
Experience in a military or educational setting.
Familiarity with Surface Warfare Officers School operations or similar training institutions.
Working Conditions:
Part-time position based at the Surface Warfare Officers School.
Occasional evening hours may be required to support training sessions or urgent issues. Work schedule will be adjusted accordingly.
The role is on-site. Telework is not authorized.
