The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Systems Engineering Manager to join the B-1 Software Development team located in Tinker AFB, OK. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
This position will manage a team of software systems engineers that are responsible for requirements development and requirements analysis activities for the software products of the B-1 Bomber. In addition to aircraft software requirements, this management position will include oversight of research and development, as well as internal applications development programs that are relevant to the platform.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering requirements development and requirements analysis
Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Manages, develops and motivates employees
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or test engineering
3+ years of experience leading or managing software systems engineering activities
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience with software requirements writing, requirements traceability from higher level specifications to lower level derived requirements, and data analysis
Ability to proactively and quickly make sense of complex issues

Experience with mentoring, coaching, and growing software engineering teams
Knowledge of and experience working in embedded software engineering aerospace environments

Travel:
Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

Summary pay range for Manager: $123,250.00 - $166,750.00
