Job Summary
The Test Equipment and Environments Center (TE&EC) is within the Test Equipment Engineering Directorate at Raytheon. The Test Equipment and Environments Center (TE&EC) includes all of the engineering disciplines responsible for systems design & test on all Raytheon products. Our engineers are responsible for all elements of the development lifecycle for test including: test requirements, test system design, flight simulations, hardware-in-the-loop, computer-in-the-loop, advanced engineering prototyping technology, flight operations for manned and unmanned vehicles, environmental testing, environmental characterization and engineering laboratory management. We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world.
The Engineering Prototyping & Fabrication department is seeking Electrical Prototyping Fabrication Technicians to work in an engineering environment to co-develop engineering hardware in accordance with customer and internal requirements, as well as industry standards. Candidates will collaborate with multi-disciplined design teams across multiple projects to bring design concepts to fruition, providing rapid engineering, fabrication and prototyping solutions throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Responsibilities to Anticipate
- Fabricate, maintain, modify, and repair moderately complex prototype electrical assemblies.
- Rely on moderate experience to interpret drawings, schematics, 3D models, written notes, and specifications.
- Assists in the layout and fitment of electrical, electro-optical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical assemblies.
- Adapts methods and procedures to test, analyze, and troubleshoot new hardware.
- Applies semi-advanced skills to test, inspect, and prove-in moderately complex prototype electrical assemblies.
- Assists in electrical/mechanical engineering drawing peer reviews to validate engineering design specifications in development of producible prototypes.
- Assess moderately complex designs to ensure producibility, maintainability, safety, and reliability.
- Communicate build concerns to customers and collaborate on design improvements.
- Perform other task related duties as required.
- Ability to work in closed/proprietary/classified areas
Basic Qualifications
- Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering environment, testing and fabricating electrical assemblies in three or more of the following areas: cables or wire harnesses, breakout boxes, or chassis, circuit card modifications, and racked electronic equipment.
- Previous work experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong understanding of engineering principals and design techniques
- Effective interpersonal skills to develop report and build positive relationships with both internal and external customers
- J-STD-001 Solder certification
- IPC 610 & 620 Acceptability certifications and inspection experience
- Experience working in an environment where your work is post-build inspected
- Experience with the fabrication and cleaning of High Pressure / High Purity Gas Systems

The salary range for this role is 44,000 USD - 102,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
