Psychiatrist for Outpatient Medical Services
We are currently seeking a Psychiatrist to provide outpatient services mainly to adults at our Avon, Indiana office. The position may require travel to other outpatient locations throughout central and west central Indiana. *Not considering candidates from locum or outside recruitment agencies.
Under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, our Psychiatrist provides medical and psychiatric services and consultation to consumers, staff, and programs.
These will be face-to-face appointments (telehealth will not be routinely utilized and when it is provided, it will be from an office site for both originating and distance). The Outpatient setting will treat adults CMI, Mood/anxiety disorders, ADHD, and SUD. Specific services include providing MAT, participating in ACT Services and possibly dTMS. Opportunity to provide dTMS and Spravato (unique to Cummins & the state)
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides direct clinical services and maintain clinical records in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Provides consultation to other staff members regarding psychiatric services with final authority for diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Provides emergency services coverage and consultation to on-call staff.
- Assumes the responsibility for and exercises the authority necessary to ensure that all clinical services are provided consistent with acceptable standards of quality of care.
- Provides consultation and education services as assigned.
- Engages in appropriate professional education/growth activities as assigned.
- Works closely and cooperatively with the clinical managers to help ensure the delivery of quality clinical services.
Training and Development:
Participates in continuing education programs and in-service training on request or in conjunction with developmental and training goals or as deemed appropriate to increase personal and professional effectiveness and improve the service quality provided our customers. As appropriate, individual will maintain compliance with Indiana licensure requirements pertaining to CMEs’.
Desired Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- Must possess Indiana medical license
- Graduate from an approved medical school, post residency experience.
- Board certified/board eligible psychiatrist is required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to assess consumer’s physical and mental health.
- Thorough understanding of Joint Commission, Medicaid, and all other applicable regulations
- Knowledge of appropriate community facilities and physicians to meet the health needs of consumers.
- Ability to communicate well with the interdisciplinary treatment team; effective management of multidisciplinary team staffing.
