Job Summary
The Security Technician will be responsible for managing all Comcast Corporate HQ - security technology programs. This includes responding to daily service tickets, overseeing security installation projects, and supporting all physical security hardware and software platforms as applicable. This role will ensure physical security standards and work processes are efficient and consistent in their daily application. The Security Technician will also be required to coordinate complex and multi-disciplined enterprise technology initiatives from design to implementation.
The Comcast Corporate HQ Security Team is looking for a highly skilled professional in the area of physical security technology. The ideal candidate must be a team player, highly motivated, and have the ability to work in a fast / rapidly changing environment.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Trouble-shoot and resolve issues with the physical security software & hardware at assigned Corp HQ locations.
- Oversee all physical security projects at assigned Corp HQ locations from project start to finish. This includes completing site walk throughs with the security manager, drafting the security design and comprehensive scopes of work, procuring quotes, and working with the vendor, project managers, general contractors, and key business partners until final commissioning.
- Work with program manager(s) to meet project milestones, provide timely updates, help in identifying solutions, and reduce risks for the successful implementation of enterprise technology solutions.
- Partner closely with the Campus Operations on all security technology projects and break / outages.
- Provide security personnel training in the use of video management and access control systems as applicable.
- Deliver on strategic roadmap initiatives as designated by leadership.
- Coordinate timely updates on the status of security projects and break / fixes.
- Responsible for systems associated with physical badge credentials, access management, and access control platforms including deployment, operations, and maintenance.
- Manage and supervise third party security integrators and venders as projects / scope of works demand.
- Work with the information technology department to help obtain IP addresses, assign ports, and troubleshoot any issues with new or existing physical security IP based devices.
- Make recommendations to the security operations team on emerging technologies and/or optimal solutions that have not yet been put in place.
- Obtain and maintain system certifications to keep certifications current.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to support off-hour emergencies or urgent issues.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skill and Abilities
- Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly with highly technical engineering teams.
- Read and understand plans and specifications/blueprints and lay out jobsites.
- Can demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of the design, programming, and troubleshooting of the following security technologies and platforms: Access Control Systems, IP-based video management systems, intrusion detection systems, access control / video servers, and HID badging technologies.
