Job Description
Job Summary
This role will be responsible for providing Techno-Functional SAP applications support for the Global Payroll Systems organization including but not limited to Union Payroll, Benefits and Pension, Health & Welfare (PH&W) projects, audits & data requests.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Union payroll special projects including day-to-day Pension Health & Welfare (PHW) application requests.
- Assist with all phases of Payroll and/or Benefits projects from fit/gap analysis, requirements gathering, preparing functional specifications, user acceptance testing, production readiness, and post go-live for successful deployment.
- Perform combined roles as business analyst, SAP configuration expert, and testing lead as needed.
- Lead the annual SAP systems upgrade (HRSP) and Tax Update projects.
- Provide production support and viable resolution to PH&W payroll discrepancies & disputes.
- Assist payroll team members in reviewing and understanding payroll configurations especially Wage Types, overpayment/claim and other SAP delivered core payroll functionalities.
- Communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders, including Business Users, Corporate Accounting, Labor Relations, and Payroll IT teams, to understand and document current processes and system interfaces and prioritize future enhancement opportunities.
- Identify opportunities and implement process automation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the PH&W disbursement processes and reporting functions.
- Cross-train direct reports so they obtain advanced functional and technical working knowledge of SAP for troubleshooting production issues and providing accurate reports.
- Provide on-going direction and mentoring to junior team members to ensure timely response to data requests & audits including Union pension contributions, Union dues and retiree health care contributions.
- Evaluate Union and PH&W earnings and deduction configurations and recommend changes to resolve payment related issues.
- Perform other tasks and assist with critical department activities where needed to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- 10+ years of SAP payroll techno-functional experience.
- Advanced knowledge of SAP payroll schema and rules, wage type configurations, and delivered payroll functionalities.
- Experienced background in SAP query and reporting tools required.
- Working knowledge of SAP Payroll processes and integrations with other modules such as Timekeeping and Finance.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
