Overview
The
Stationary Engineer for Cleanroom is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical systems and equipment in a cleanroom environment, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and auxiliary plant machinery. This role ensures that all systems operate efficiently and safely to maintain the cleanroom’s-controlled environment, which is essential for meeting stringent quality and safety standards in manufacturing or laboratory settings. The engineer will also ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry-specific standards, including cleanliness and contamination control.
Pay: $69.52/hour
The pay listed is the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and monitor critical cleanroom systems, including HVAC, filtration systems, and other specialized equipment to ensure a contamination-free environment.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on air handling units, HEPA filtration systems, pumps, compressors, chillers, and other essential equipment to maintain cleanroom standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any system malfunctions, mechanical failures, or contamination risks to minimize downtime and ensure cleanroom integrity.
- Maintain cleanroom conditions by adjusting environmental parameters, including temperature, humidity, airflow, and pressure, to meet operational requirements and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with cleanroom regulations and guidelines, including ISO certification standards and other industry-specific protocols.
- Regularly check and replace filters, inspect air quality systems, and ensure proper calibration of environmental monitoring equipment.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to ensure traceability and compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to manage cleanroom maintenance schedules and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, including system failures or contamination incidents, and perform corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory and maintain stock of necessary tools, parts, and equipment for repairs and routine maintenance.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols in the cleanroom and surrounding areas, including handling hazardous materials in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Participate in audits and inspections, supporting compliance with internal and external regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in stationary engineering, HVAC, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in operating and maintaining critical systems in cleanroom environments, including knowledge of HVAC systems, filtration, and environmental control.
- Strong knowledge of cleanroom standards, contamination control practices, and ISO certifications (ISO 14644 or similar).
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems in a controlled environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including OSHA, FDA, or other industry-specific standards related to cleanroom operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a focus on teamwork.
- Ability to work in a high-demand, precision-oriented environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Certification in HVAC, refrigeration, or stationary engineering (e.g., 2nd or 1st Class Engineer, EPA certification) preferred.
- Experience with automated control systems, BAS (Building Automation Systems), and cleanroom monitoring systems is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
