Role Summary:
KBR is seeking an experienced Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join the corporate finance team. This position reports to the Sr. Director of FP&A with one direct report staff and provides financial planning and analysis support to corporate functional departments. This position follows a hybrid schedule (3 days in office) and is based in Houston, TX.
This role is responsible for KBR’s corporate functional department financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. This position requires an understanding of financial planning and analysis, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate financial information to a variety of stakeholders, including non-finance professionals.
Role Responsibilities:
Corporate Planning
Prepare annual budget and periodic forecasts for corporate functional departments (e.g., human resources, real estate, finance, information technology, etc.)
Perform monthly variance analysis for corporate functional departments
Support the corporate allocation process, including applicable reporting
Participate in quarterly reviews with Finance management regarding corporate cost performance
Provide periodic reporting and analysis for statutory and management purposes
Assist with in-depth and/or ad hoc analysis
Business Partnership, Collaboration, and Delivery
Develop relationships with corporate functional leadership and other professionals across the organization to act as a trusted advisor
Provide guidance, insights, and recommendations to improve business efficiency and performance
Monitor budget/forecast variances for corporate functional departments to promptly detect any risks or overruns and suggest measures to address them
Responsible for staff, both local and in shared service center offshore.
Process Optimization
Identify and drive automation initiatives
Design and implement insightful and efficient reporting to drive better visibility of opportunities
Design and implement processes to drive consistency
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with 2+ years in a management role
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Proven leadership and team management abilities, including strong organizational skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong knowledge and understanding of planning and ERP systems and data preferred (Oracle EPM Cloud FCCS and Planning, Costpoint, MS Dynamics, SmartView)
Preferred Attributes:
Experience in a corporate finance role within a large, public organization
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Knowledge of government contracting requirements (FAR and CAS)
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
Proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and process improvement
High level of integrity and ethical standards
