Job Summary
KBRis seeking a Food Service Supervisor for a temporary position from May to August 2025. Based in Fort Knox, Kentucky, this role requires a commitment of at least 70 hours per week.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a Food Service Supervisor, you will oversee the operation of a military dining facility (DFAC), coordinating and supervising staff to ensure seamless service to military patrons. Your responsibilities include providing direction to chefs, cooks, and food service workers, maintaining equipment efficiency, and planning weekly work schedules.
You'll play a crucial role in menu planning, preparing weekly menus for review and approval by the Food Services Manager. Additionally, you'll operate a motor vehicle as required to fulfill job duties.
We're looking for candidates with strong leadership skills, capable of effectively managing a team and maintaining high standards of service.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Must have 1+ year of experience as a Sous Chef
- Must have 5+ years of recent experience cooking in a military dining facility.
- Proven experience supervising/managing a dining facility supporting military patrons.
- Provides leadership and direction to all levels of Food Service, Administrative, and Warehouse personnel in order to plan, organize, and manage all aspects of food service in a military dining facility.
- Demonstrated leadership in planning, organizing, and supervising a military food service operation.
- Ensure and promote compliance with client and company health and safety regulations.
- Ability to evaluate and provide on-the-spot corrections for Food Service staff.
- Experience in implementing and maintaining Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) processes to ensure adherence to food safety standards and quality control measures.
- Implementation of training programs for staff development.
- Thorough knowledge of Military regulations (Tri-Service Food Code/TB Med 530) and policies.
- Possession of ServSafe Manager certification.
- Capability to operate and provide service in austere locations.
- Oversight of special functions and events.
- Ability to pass a Military Background Check for access to military installations.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain food service medical clearance.
- Familiarity with AR 30-22, DA PAM 30-22, TM 4-41.11, and TM 4-41.12.
