What does a successful Senior Software Engineer (C/C++) do at Fiserv?
You will be a part of our Core Acquiring engineering group within Fiserv’s Global Business Solutions (Payment Acceptance) business. You will join an organization responsible for mission critical platforms that support our payment acquiring business. You will be part of a team that captures millions of payment transactions per day with a peak throughput of over 4,000 transactions per second maintaining millisecond response times for some of the largest merchants in the US.
You will use your passion to be a critical analytical person who can balance platform stability and resiliency along with modern engineering practices and solutions.
This development team is responsible for seven applications as part of the largest payments processing application within Fiserv, processing approximately 63B transactions per year. In addition, you will provide Level 3 support for production issues, compliance changes, and projects. This will include on-call rotation as part of this team’s expectations.
What you will do:
- Develop code for several applications using C/C++ on a Unix platform
- Support existing business systems applications
- Consult with all levels of application development including Developers, Project Managers, Compliance Managers, Quality Assurance testers and the Production Support team
- Play a lead role in supporting the Production Support team with issues that require troubleshooting of existing code from a Level 3 perspective
- Review design and code changes made by other developers on the team
What you will need to have:
- 6+ years of experience in C
- 6+ years of experience in full Software Development Life Cycle and Testing Methodologies
- 1+ years of experience in providing support for production issues
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience
What would be great to have:
- Experience in the payments or financial domain
- Experience with C++
