Job Description: 24x7 IT Tech Support Operations
What does a successful IT Tech Support Operator do ?
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled individual to join our team as a 24x7 IT Tech Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective technical support to our organization's employees and clients. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in IT troubleshooting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
What you will do
- Provide first-level technical support via phone, email, and chat to end-users experiencing hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems, including desktop/laptop issues, software installations, network connectivity, and printing problems.
- Utilize remote access tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues on user devices.
- Document all support incidents, interactions, and solutions in the helpdesk ticketing system.
- Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level IT support teams and collaborate closely with them to ensure timely resolution.
- Assist with password resets, account unlock requests, and access management.
- Ensure proper recording, tracking, and closure of all issues, adhering to defined service level agreements (SLAs).
- Provide clear and concise communication to end-users, ensuring they understand the steps being taken to resolve their issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest IT trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
What you will need to have
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or coursework are a plus.
- Proven experience in a technical support role, preferably in a helpdesk environment.
- Strong understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, email clients, and common business software applications.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think logically and critically.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
- Customer-centric attitude with a strong sense of empathy and patience.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to work in a 24x7 rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
