What does a successful Infrastructure Solution Architect do?

What you will do:
Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of on-premise, hybrid, and cloud-based solutions for large-scale enterprise projects.
Collaborate with project managers and SMEs from various technical domains to translate project requirements into actionable architecture.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop comprehensive documentation for architecture patterns, deployment models, and integration approaches, ensuring clarity and accessibility for delivery teams.
Engage directly with clients to gather requirements, present solutions, and address technical questions; support pre-sales and solution definition activities as needed.
Define and enforce architecture standards, reusable patterns, and best practices for automation, security, compliance (e.g., PCI), high availability, and disaster recovery.
Lead or support the migration of legacy systems to modern architectures, including integration with public clouds (AWS, Azure).
Stay current with technology trends, emerging tools, and best practices; proactively recommend improvements to architecture and processes.
Work flexibly with teams across multiple time zones and geographic locations.
What you will need to have:
Strong understanding of networking, security, cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), databases, event streaming (Kafka), observability, and automation (CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code).
Hands-on experience with VMware, Linux/Windows OS, Kubernetes, and enterprise storage solutions.
Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards, such as PCI DSS.
Proficiency in Confluence, Jira, Splunk, Dynatrace, and other project management and network tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
