The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
We are seeking an experienced and driven Splunk engineer to manage and enhance our Splunk environment. The ideal
candidate will be responsible for deploying, configuring, maintaining and optimizing Splunk instances while ensuring
optimal performance, security and integration into critical systems/networks.
Responsibilities - Architect, deploy and effectively configure Splunk instances, including forwarders and indexers.
- Manage and optimize data ingestion and archival.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and alerts for various data sources.
- Stay up-to-date with Splunk features and best practices, and recommend improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Splunk performance, data accuracy, and availability.
- Automate the deployment, monitoring and management of Splunk instances.
- Fluent in SPL.
Qualifications - External Bachelor’s degree in related field with at least four years IT experience or six years of IT experience.

- 2 years of experience deploying, managing and sustaining Splunk in a large-scale environment.
- Experienced in Linux/Unix system administration.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation of tasks. -Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Equipment and Machines - Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.
Attendance - Work assignments are normally 8 hours shifts, 5 consecutive days per week.

- Occasional overtime, sometimes with short notice, is required to meet demanding schedule
