About the Role
IALR is seeking a highly skilled IT Specialist III – Systems Administrator to join our dynamic Information Technology team. This role is essential in managing and optimizing both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient operations across the organization. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in systems administration, cloud platforms, automation, and cybersecurity, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Systems Administration: Maintain and monitor servers and systems for performance, availability, and security.
- Directory Services: Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, KMS, Group Policy, and Certificate Services.
- Cloud Platforms: Manage Microsoft Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, and Intune environments.
- Email Systems: Serve as primary administrator for email platforms and secure gateways.
- Network Services: Support protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, and LDAP.
- Automation & Scripting: Enhance efficiency using PowerShell and Python.
- Virtualization: Deploy and manage environments using VMware, Nutanix, Horizon, or Hyper-V.
- Security: Implement and maintain firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with IT staff and end-users; maintain clear documentation of systems and procedures.
Work Location
We are looking for staff to work onsite in Danville, VA.
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred certifications: MCSA, MCSE, VCP Data Center, Microsoft Azure Administrator, RHCSA.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on systems administration experience in Windows or Linux environments.
- Experience with compliance frameworks such as CMMC, ITAR, GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
- Strong proficiency in PowerShell and Python.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

- Must be able to move freely between facilities

- Must be able to operate and manipulate a keyboard
- May lift up to up to 10 pounds on an occasional basis
