Role Definition:
Are you excited by the opportunity to collaborate with Caterpillar Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) professionals and Caterpillar Dealers around the world? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our team as an EHS Associate in Peoria, IL.
This entry level corporate position will be tasked with supporting Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requests from Caterpillar Dealers, investigating global chemical regulatory requirements, communicating regulatory changes with product groups, and working directly with suppliers to ensure chemical compliance. You will support chemical compliance by driving adherence to the established review and approval process. As an EHS associate, you will have the opportunity to directly contribute to Caterpillar’s continued global success.

What You Will Do:
- Understand and stay current on chemical regulatory requirements and related technology requirements and understand application to Caterpillar products.
- Follow and utilize established processes and tools to collect, assess, and manage information in support of chemical certification and compliance.
- Collaborate with product groups, design controls, and suppliers to ensure the introduction and usage of chemicals meets applicable regulatory requirements.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities for processes and tools used to manage chemical regulatory compliance risks.
- Manage Dealer requests and inquiries for SDS and other compliance questions.
- Internal / external systems support.
What You Will Have:
- A degree in a related scientific discipline
- Experience working with different products, processes, or systems
- Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
- Initiative: Being proactive and committing to action on self-identified job responsibilities and challenges; ability to seek out work and the drive to accomplish goals.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
- Manufacturing – direct experience or related internship.
- Follow up – ability to track several ongoing issues / projects to conclusion.
- Research – ability locate, comprehend, and communicate global regulatory requirements and changes.

- The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL
- This role is office based and requires the employee to be onsite Monday to Friday.
- Travel up to 5%.

Summary Pay Range:
$79,800.00 - $119,760.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
