About your role:
As a Network Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing a global team of networking professionals whose primary responsibilities include proactive monitoring, incident response and troubleshooting, and break/fix engineering for a large-scale global network and security infrastructure. You will be responsible for daily operational management of global client facing team whose primary focus is service restoration and client service.
What you'll do:
- Lead and manage a Network Operations team to ensure efficient and effective network performance and uptime
- Oversee proactive network monitoring and incident response, ensuring timely resolution of issues
- Lead and drive severity 1, 2 and 3 incident calls, participating in root cause analysis and problem resolution and provides effective communication to NWOPS director and senior leadership
- Implement and enforce network security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Develop and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for network operations
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve complex network issues and improve network service and provide technical guidance and serve as an escalation point for the Network Operations team.
- Conduct goal setting and performance reviews and provide training and development opportunities for team members including one on ones with associates
- Identify and drive workload reduction items as well as automation opportunities
Experience you'll need to have:
- 8+ years of experience in a people manager role in a large, enterprise level environment
- 8+ years building and leading an operations team
- 3+ years of experience or knowledge of the ITIL model including incident management, change management, and problem management
- 3+ years of experience with Cisco technologies
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience
Experience that would be great to have:
- Experience with Visio and network diagramming
- Prior knowledge and experience with load balancing and configuration of Cisco switches and routers
- Proficient in troubleshooting with packet capture tools and network protocol analysis
- Thorough understanding of the OSI Model
