KBR is seeking a SATCOM Systems Engineer. Remote with occasional travel predominately in area around Ft. Meade MD.
The SATCOM Systems Engineer under broad direction, provides expert support, analysis and research into especially complex problems, will and processes relating to the subject matter. Serves as technical expert on high-level project teams providing technical direction, interpretation and alternatives. Thinks independently and demonstrates superior written and oral communications skills. Possesses a complete understanding and wide experience in the application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Qualifications:
Required:
BS Degree or higher 5 Years experience in Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Experience with SATCOM ground systems, including modems and teleports
Experience with RF Systems and Link Budgets Proficiency in technical documentation, including CONOPS, ICDs, system specifications, and verification plans
Understanding of end-to-end SATCOM system integration, including terrestrial and space segment interfaces
Must have a Secret Clearance and be a US Citizen
Desired:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include MS Project, MS Visio, etc. - Familiarity with MBSE programs (CAMEO, SparX) and SysML language
Defense Acquisition University systems engineering training - INCOSE ASEP certification
OCSMP MBSE training and certification
Familiarity with DoD SATCOM architectures, including WGS, AEHF, MUOS, and emerging LEO/MEO systems
Work Environment:
Location:Remote, Occasional travel into Ft. Meade, MD
Travel Requirements:Minimal 0-20%

Salary:
The Compensation for this role in the MD area is $110,000-$120,000 a year.
