GM Global Communications Team

The opportunity
We are searching for a Planning and Operations Lead to support GM Communications. You will partner closely with the Executive Director of Communications Strategy and other Business Planners and Program Managers across the company to develop and implement strategies and programs that drive forward functional and enterprise-level business objectives.
Your primary responsibilities will include developing and executing communications strategies and programs that align with the organization's overall goals and increase operational excellence. Close partnership with the Communications leadership team and other teams such as Marketing, Legal, Human Resources, and other functional areas will be crucial to ensure cohesive and integrated efforts. The ideal candidate is someone who brings deep organizational and project management capability with a strategic, problem-solving mindset and willingness to stretch and learn. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are essential for success in this role, as you'll be working closely with cross-functional teams to contribute to the company’s overall success.
Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Director of Communications Strategy across planning, operations, and program management to ensure function can drive forward business goals and objectives
- Interface between Communications initiatives and enterprise initiatives and provide strategic counsel to business partners
- Identify and implement program improvements to increase Communications operational excellence
- Build Communications (and potentially enterprise) touchpoints and channels to drive team culture & connection
- Lead cross-functional special projects that drive high impact for the company and employees
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree at a minimum.
- 10+ years of experience in Communications (or adjacent function) and strategy & operations work
- Experience working with global teams and a deep understanding of cultural nuances
- Ability to work and influence with high-level executives
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills: you'll need to articulate complex ideas clearly and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking, and analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong entrepreneurial drive and self-starter mentality
- Excellent project and people management skills
Location: This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of (Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford or Mountain View), you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.
Compensation:
The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws.
The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate.
- The salary range for this role is $158,500 - $242,900. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
