The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team is seeking a Test & Evaluation Instrumentation Technician to join our team in Berkeley, MO.
This position will provide test and evaluation technician support in either a lab or an aircraft production environment while working alongside production operations personnel. The main responsibilities include fabricating and maintaining the instrumentation system, to include installing a high volume of sensors and associated wiring onto aircraft parts and assemblies per engineering requirements. Sensor types primarily include Strain Gages and Accelerometers. Other types include Thermocouples, RTDs, Pressure Transducers, etc.
Processes require coordination with Instrumentation Operations Engineers and Design Build Manufacturing Engineers, ability to interpret engineering drawings, locating, surface prep, hand sanding, cleaning, handling, hazardous materials such as solvents and cleaners, adhesives, sealants, wire fabrication, electrical terminations, soldering, crimping, wire routing, continuity checks, labeling, and sealing. Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and wiring is required.
Accessibility may require working for periods while standing, kneeling, working from stair ladders, mobile lift platforms, scissor lifts, boom lifts, or supported by overhead support systems. Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and hard toe shoes are required
BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Mid-Level, and Senior level Instrumentation Technicians.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Support activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies
Design systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements
Participate in test design and perform routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of components, test fixtures and test systems
Support the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities
Facilitate systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down
Conduct routine tests, analyze data and document results
Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems.
Work under general supervision
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Associate’s degree or higher, a Technical certificate or degree, or 2 or more years of equivalent technical experience
Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and associated equipment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 3: 4 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Level 4: 8 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Experience installing aircraft modifications to include fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components or avionics boxes
Experience with aerospace assembly and/or electrical fabrication

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range Associate Level: $56,000 - $67,000
Summary pay range Mid-Level: $65,000 - $78000
Summary pay range Senior Level: $75,000 - $90000
