Seeking a Submarine Technician (FT, ST, ET, IT) to join our Groton, CT team. You will provide technical evaluation, perform installation, testing and certification of AN/BVY-1 (ISIS) and AN/BPS (15,16,17) (RADAR) systems in accordance with NAVSEA installation procedures, onboard all classes of submarines. Assist DoD personnel with the required corrective actions for those systems in accordance with DoD and Navy Maintenance Procedures; and provide support in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, operation of systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
Essential Responsibilities:
Install, monitor, and service ISIS and RADAR equipment and systems at various Naval locations
Perform validations/verifications of various electronic systems
Review change proposals for equipment impacts
Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions
Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements
Establish and maintain a filing system, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory
Provide support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications
Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures.
Provide technical data and evaluation for components installation, equipment maintenance and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout and contract requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance.
High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of practical experience OR degree/formal training and three (3) years experience. (Degree/Formal Training is defined as: Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program.)
Practical experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or repair of Submarine C5I systems/equipment.
Experience in the maintenance/repair and/or installation disciplines.
Experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents, and drawings.
Ability to travel up to 40%.
Preferred Qualifications
Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:
This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
Compensation:
The minimum starting hourly rate for this position is $24.43 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
