Purpose and Scope:
Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs low voltage electrical devices and systems. Erects, inspects and maintains energized and de-energized high voltage electrical distribution systems and related equipment. Operates, maintains, tests, repairs, services, and stores electrical generating equipment, water distribution systems, flood lights, air compressors, and aircraft arresting systems. Performs required inspections and scheduled maintenance, troubleshoots repair situations and performs other maintenance on all assigned equipment. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS).
Essential Responsibilities:
- Repairs and maintains electrical Bare Base structures, flight line support equipment, fixtures, circuits, control instruments, lighting systems, meters, conduit systems, cable systems, conductors, switches, receptacles, outlets, device plates, grounds, electric motors, emergency lights, obstruction lights and material handling hoists.
- Repairs, inspects, fabricates, cleans, operates, maintains, corrosion controls, reconstitutes, and prepares BEAR assets/equipment air/sea/road haul shipments in accordance with Maintenance Action Sheets, Technical Orders, Manuals, Checklists, Regulations, Maintenance Action Sheets, and Unit Type Code (UTC) Configuration listings.
- Inspects, troubleshoots, services, assembles, installs, connects, repairs, adjusts, and tests low voltage interior electrical distribution, control and utilization equipment and systems.
- Examines electrical equipment and systems for damages, corrosion, and operation.
- Connects and utilizes test equipment and meters such as voltmeters, ammeters, megohmmeters and oscilloscopes.
- Installs and connects distribution, power generation and utilization equipment components.
- Uses common hand tools, tubing and conduit benders, hand and motor operated conduit threading machines, soldering irons and grounding systems.
- Replaces defective components in power rectifiers, photoelectric sensors, and voltage current regulator.
- Erects, repairs and services electrical power distribution systems and equipment.
- Operates, maintains, tests, repairs, services, and stores electrical generating equipment, water distribution systems, flood lights, air compressors, and aircraft arresting systems.
- Bench checks repairable components, subassemblies, and solid-state components by using test equipment, load banks, and other equipment as may be required by technical data.
- Tests required gauges and meters to assure accuracy and reliability.
- Interprets electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and maintenance malfunction data related to assigned equipment to prevent potential systems failure.
- Analyzes malfunctions by inspection, observation of operation, and use of test equipment.
- Performs required inspections and scheduled maintenance, troubleshoots repair situations and performs other maintenance on all assigned equipment.
- Interprets electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Conforms to USAF/Amentum International safety, hazardous material and quality standards.
- Performs maintenance in accordance with Maintenance Action Sheets, Air Force Technical Orders and Amentum International directives.
- Assists in the erection, construction and operation of Bare Base power generation and associated equipment to support real world exercises and contingencies.
- Performs servicing and/or maintenance of in-use assets as required.
- Ensures all tools, personal protective equipment and clothing issued remain safe, secure and serviceable, reporting any deficiencies.
- Prepares and completes documentation including Work Orders, USAF Supply and Amentum forms and update Maximo.
- Operates material handling equipment as required.
- Inspects Hazardous Materials within the assigned work center and coordinates with the appropriate office for the disposal of HAZMAT when required.
- Performs other tasks and duties as directed by Amentum/ USAF tasking.
- May be required to assist in other departments when directed or requested to accomplish a specific task or project.
- Performs Temporary Duty (TDY) in the Area of Operations as required by USAF/Amentum tasking.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be fully qualified electrical maintenance technician.
- Five years’ experience as journeyman electrician or related environment preferred.
- Must be experienced on high/low voltage generators and load testing.
- Hands-on experience with Harvest Falcon, Eagle, and BEAR assets or similar Department of Defense Agencies Contingency Systems preferred.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at an intermediate level.
- Ability to read and understand technical data, plans/blueprints and publications pertaining to USAF electrical distribution systems/equipment, power generation and electrical systems required.
- MAXIMO experience preferred.
- Must possess a valid home country driver’s license and ability to obtain host nation driver’s license.
- Will be required to operate material handling equipment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust U.S. Government Clearance.
- NOTE: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Contract Requirements in Accordance with Appendix J:
- Completed Factory training on Mobile Aircraft Arresting Systems (MAAS)/BAK-12.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
- Works in maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.
- The diversity of working conditions may range from a standard office type environment, where there is no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individuals to severe changes of temperature, less than adequate lighting, dust, wind, rain, and the like.
- On occasions, individuals may also be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail, thus requiring the use of adequate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, cold and or high temperatures associated with the work area.
- Exposure to high noise levels or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
- Required to stand, walk, sit, and capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs. and performing extensive work handling/lifting equipment.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
