What does a successful Director of EMEA VAT do?
The Director of EMEA VAT at Fiserv is critical in guiding the company's indirect tax strategy across the EMEA region. You will ensure our compliance with VAT regulations, support business initiatives, and align our systems with evolving regulatory requirements. Your leadership will drive strategic tax policies and foster collaboration, enabling Fiserv to meet growth and innovation goals while maintaining robust controls and governance.
What you will do:
- Lead the EMEA indirect tax function, ensuring alignment with global tax strategy.
- Develop and implement strategic indirect tax policies and procedures across the region.
- Advise senior stakeholders on VAT implications of new products, services, and market expansions.
- Ensure compliance with VAT and other indirect tax regulations in all EMEA jurisdictions.
- Provide proactive VAT advice on business initiatives, supply chain structuring, and business operations.
- Represent the company in industry forums and regulatory discussions.
What you will need to have:
- Strong understanding of EMEA VAT regulations and cross-border tax issues.
- Experience with ERP systems and tax technology tools.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- Practical experience working with third-party professional advisers in multiple countries.
- Ability to convey complex VAT concepts to stakeholders across the organization.
What would be great to have:
- ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Extensive experience in VAT within financial services, ideally payments or fintech.
- Strong experience in Finance and VAT accounting, either in-house or in practice.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strategic vision.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
