As Director, Program Management, you will be responsible for managing a program/portfolio of projects and a project team within our Global Finance/Quote-to-Cash organization, including planning and controlling the activities of complex business projects spanning multiple BUs and functions, while ensuring that project deliverables are provided on time, within budget, and achieve all objectives set out in project charters.
In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining productive working relationships between all stakeholders – Finance/Quote-to-Cash functions, Business Units, and other functions outside of Finance, and at all levels – project team, leadership, and executive. You will be a strong communicator and change leader and effectively develop your team to drive change.
As part of the QTC Transformation leadership team, you will contribute to the setting of transformation priorities and the building out of a transformation roadmap, which is focused on driving value for ADP. You will also ensure accurate reporting on the progress or issues/risks associated with your program, as well as efforts to mitigate them. As a result, you will be responsible for monitoring the performance of your team and ensuring they are developed to meet future needs and their own career aspirations.

Here’s what you can expect on a typical day:
- Drives Program Management disciplines in the following areas: Scope Management, Schedule Management, Cost Management, Issue Management, Risk Management, Quality Management, and Communication/Change Management.
- Ensures the documentation and sign-off of project charters laying out: the problem statements/opportunities, objectives, dependencies, resource needs, KPIs, and high-level milestones of projects
- Ensures the effective planning and execution of projects through the development of Work Breakdown Structures, and the documentation/sign-off of business/functional/analytic requirements, technical design, and test plans, and the monitoring of issues/risks and their mitigation through a Risk Register, as well as ad hoc activities through a Rolling Action Item Log
- You will ensure we establish, manage, and publish comprehensive reporting on the progress of our projects through our portfolio/project and transformation management applications
- You will ensure you effectively structure your program and projects, and ensure effective resourcing – be that your own team or project teams, including liaising with other functions and third parties as necessary
- The Program Manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring we obtain approvals on program or project scope changes, escalating critical path issues, and resolving team resource conflicts
- You ensure active engagement and direct the project team; set goals, objectives, and priorities; assign and review project tasks and performance on a regular basis, benchmark against key milestones and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Lead the assessment of quarterly performance pulses, input to others, and lead your team’s annual focal point review
- You establish comprehensive cross-functional written and verbal communications evaluating program/project tasks, milestones, dependencies, issues, and escalations.
- Act as a primary contact for the program leader
- Ensure that the methodology, processes, and tools are consistently used as dictated through the Program Management Office (PMO)
- Responsible for determining success criteria (KPIs) of projects within your program/portfolio.
- Managing the overall program budget.
- Coordinate requests for incremental funding if deemed necessary.
Experience. You have at least 10 years of demonstrable project experience and associated skills gained and developed in the same or a similar role, with at least 5 years of enterprise-level experience managing medium to large, cross-functional, and/or multi-year projects.
To Succeed In This Role
- Program management expertise, including demonstrated success in leading programs involving multiple concurrent projects, with high complexity and multiple dependencies, in a matrixed organization
- Demonstrated experience executing strategy and driving change
- Director-level people leadership experience
- Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate project risks to successfully meet project objectives.
- Experience in managing project teams of 10+ associates across multiple functions in a multi-national company
- Excellent organizational and time management skills for managing multiple, diverse, and conflicting projects/teams
- 3+ years’ experience in one or more Quote-to-Cash functions – Quote-to-Order, Contracting, Order Management, Billing, Accounts Receivable
- Functional experience engaging with commercial stakeholders, for example, sales, marketing, and legal
- Understanding of data and how it flows through applications, and experience working with developers and testers.
- Strong team partnership and ability to delegate responsibility to all levels of the project team and hold the team accountable for deliverables
- Demonstrated ability to manage across formal organizational lines
- Experience presenting to all levels of the organization, including senior leaders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including change management skills, and experience leading communication with stakeholders and team members
- Experience collaborating with multiple functions/organizations to identify and negotiate required resources
- Experience managing projects or programs in a project management tool, including Smartsheet or similar
- Current PMP, Prince2, or equivalent professional project management certification
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or equivalent.
