The Opportunity:
KBR is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from highly skilled and experienced defence Business Development Managers (BDM’s) to support with the identification and qualification of business opportunities that align with KBR’s strategic plan and business goals.
As a BDM for KBR, you will be responsible for Identification and Opportunity Assessment Stages of the Growth Lifecycle, focusing on developing customer affinity, shaping customer requirements, and for positioning the company for success.
Note: this EOI will be used to talent pool for any future BDM requirements. Suitable applicants will be contacted once a live position arises.
Responsibilities:
Some key responsibilities of a KBR BDM include, but are not limited to:
- Building and maintaining market intelligence and identifying entry strategies to grow KBR’s position in the Department of Defence and other, relevant, Federal Government Departments.
- Establishing KBR within external networks and working with the KBR ADSS Corporate Affairs team to raise the brand awareness of prospective clients, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Maintaining relationships with existing clients and developing new client contacts, especially in the Department of Defence and other, relevant Federal Government Departments.
- Leading and managing pursuits consistent with the KBR Business Development Process, through Stages 1 and 2, from early shaping activities through to handover to a Capture Manager in Stage 3 (Capture Planning).
- Demonstrating accountability for pursuit outcomes, from identification and qualification, through to handover to a Capture Manager, and supporting the remainder of the capture process until contract signature.
- Establishing and qualifying a pipeline of opportunities and maintaining reporting using KBR’s customer relationship management (CRM) platform (Salesforce).
- Assisting clients to identify and articulate their requirements and designing outcome focused solutions.
- Assisting in the development of partnerships within the guidelines of the KBR ADSS Strategy, and as approved by the Director, in support of new business opportunities.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications in technical fields or equivalent experience in Defence or national security operations
- Extensive and relevant network across Defence, Federal Government, Industry, or Academia
- Familiarity with Defence, Defence Capability, and Defence Sustainment projects
- Highly evolved communication skills with the ability to effectively influence stakeholders.
- A values-based leadership style, with an ability to champion the KBR brand internally and externally
Desirable:
- Operational experience with Australian Defence Force capabilities
- Business development experience in the Defence and national security market
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
