About this role:Wells Fargo Merchant Services is seeking a Senior Underwriting Manager to lead the large merchant underwriting team.
In this role, you will:- Manage and develop teams providing analysis, consulting, reporting, and ongoing process support to drive credit culture, appetite, and business performance with input from leadership
- Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners, and peers associated with the Credit Portfolio Consulting functional area or who are affected by its outcomes
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development through business analysis or modeling
- Contribute to the development of appropriate strategies to ensure risk is within risk appetite
- Determine appropriate strategies and actions to meet moderate to high risk deliverables
- Interpret and develop credit policies and procedures for functions with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility
- Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including more experienced managers, and maintain relationships with corporate and business heads
- Interact directly with external customers
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Credit Portfolio Consulting
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:- 6+ years of Credit Portfolio Consulting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience

- Commercial credit underwriting & portfolio management
- Financial statement & merchant business model analysis
- Partnering with Product on tool & infrastructure development
