About the Role
The Security Monitor (SM) plays a critical role in maintaining the security posture of restricted and controlled areas, ensuring the safety of personnel and infrastructure. Reporting to the Security Monitor Supervisor, the SM provides line-of-sight monitoring of uncleared personnel and ensures compliance with site security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor uncleared personnel to prevent unauthorized access or removal of sensitive materials.
- Enforce site regulations and communicate security procedures professionally.
- Operate handheld radio systems for effective communication.
- Respond to emergency events and maintain control of personnel.
- Complete incident and infraction reports accurately.
- Support other operational areas (e.g., custodial, food services, trades) as needed.
- Promote and maintain health and safety compliance.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Completion of Year 12
- Valid Driver’s Licence (manual transmission)
- White Card (Construction Induction)
- Minimum 1 year of work experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in extreme weather and physically demanding conditions
Desirable:
- Previous security experience
- Experience with handheld radio communications
- Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platform tickets
Security Clearance Requirement
Applicants must be eligible to obtain and retain a minimum of NV1 (Australian) or SECRET (U.S.) Department of Defence Security Clearance.
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Commitment to EHS and Quality standards
- Willingness to comply with all site procedures and policies
