You will be the Business Development Principle for the Advanced Programs (AP) team. Our team is responsible for driving Army Science & Technology (S&T) initiatives and shaping future Army capabilities.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Business Development Principle you will be responsible for forging strategic relationships with Army S&T labs, guiding capture activities, and aligning market strategies with our product roadmap.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
 
- Identify and engage with Army S&T laboratories (e.g., AvMC, NVESD) to create partnership opportunities.
 
- Support the AP Director and Applied Research Director in advancing new‑business capture initiatives for emerging products.
 
- Develop and maintain capability roadmaps and market strategies for future weapons solutions.
 
- Coordinate with Production Lines of Business and other Business Areas to align long‑range plans and market approaches.
 
- Provide concise briefings and reports to senior leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:• At least 10 years of business development and/or leadership experience 
• Knowledge of US Army S&T organizations, Army force structure, Army doctrine 
• Effective leader who can envision workable system-level solutions derived from an extensive understanding of customer derived capability gap analysis 
Previous Experience in Business development
• Established and successful reputation in the business market with existing Army relationships
• An aptitude for strategic, financial analysis, capture management and teaming
• Polished communicator who is able to establish and maintain rapport with internal and external senior leaders
• Knowledge of the federal acquisition process
• Experience in the defense contracting Capture process
• Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:• Thorough understanding of business case development
• Technically grounded with demonstrated ability to convey complex technical concepts to laymen 
• Previous success in working with Army S&T labs

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.  Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.  These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $173,900  - $301,415. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $151,200  - $266,570. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
